Our charity partners

Here at Vitax we are privileged to work with outstanding local and national charities who, through a range of initiatives,

make a huge difference to the communities they work within.

High Ground

Delivering a pioneering Horticultural Therapy programme to injured serving personnel as part of its rehabilitation programme at DMRC Stanford Hall in Leicestershire, HighGround’s mission is to improve the wellbeing and employment prospects of serving personnel and veterans using the green environment. It receives no statutory funding and relies entirely on grant-making trusts and foundations, public donation and corporate support for its income.

"We are hugely grateful for the support and encouragement which Vitax have given us. This support and encouragement means so much to us; we are a small charity and these are difficult times for everyone but knowing a company with such a fantastic reputation and culture as Vitax has chosen to support us is precious beyond words."

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity

ABF The Soldiers' Charity is the Army’s national charity, there for soldiers, veterans and their families for life. Since 1944, it has been at the forefront of support for the Army family and one of the largest funders in the sector, reaching around 60,000 people and funding over 40 other charities and organisations last year. When you support the charity, you support the whole Army family.

“We are immensely proud to have worked with Vitax to support soldiers, former soldiers and their families since 2018. Our partnership began with their popular Q4 fertiliser, with proceeds from the sales of special packs donated towards our grants for the Army family. To date, Vitax and their customers have raised over £25,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, ensuring that we can continue to make a crucial difference to those in need.”

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust - Secret Garden Project

Hidden within the grounds of Glenfield Hospital in Leicester, the Secret Garden Project aims to restore the walled kitchen garden and wider area to provide a therapeutic environment for patients, visitors and staff. Brought back to life by a small project team and a group of enthusiastic volunteers whose fundamental purpose is to create a space to enhance mental health and wellbeing, the project is primarily funded by donations and grants.

"The tranquillity of the garden has a real impact on those who use it and without the support of businesses such as Vitax, we would be unable to complete certain areas of the garden. We are delighted to be one of Vitax's beneficiaries as they are fabulous to work with and really listen to what we need to progress the garden."

Greenfingers

Dedicated to supporting life-limited children and their families who spend time in hospices around the UK, the charity is committed to creating well-designed outdoor spaces for children to enjoy with family, friends and siblings, whether through play and fun, or therapeutic rest and relaxation. To date Greenfingers Charity has created over 60 inspiring gardens in children’s hospices around the country.

"Vitax has been inspired by the work of Greenfingers Charity and has been extremely supportive of the fundraising activities the charity has undertaken, especially Garden Re-Leaf day.  We are thrilled to continue to work with Vitax to raise funds to enable the charity to continue creating outdoor spaces which truly make a difference to everyone who uses them."
