Grow Pots

The best start for seeds and young plants

Description

Grow Pots are perfect for seeds, seedlings and cuttings which will require planting out at a later date. Completely biodegradable, Grow Pots can be put straight into the garden when the time is right for planting.

Grow Pots:

  • Keeps roots warm and moist for vigorous growth
  • Protects roots from transplant damage
  • Plant out complete pot

Each pot has good strength and flexibility, and as young plants do not have to be disturbed whilst transferring into the ground, the pots ensure roots stay healthy and undamaged.

Once old enough, the roots will break through the pots and continue to grow as normal.

One seed should be used per Grow Pot.

Sizes available:

• 8cm Round Pots x 16

• 9cm Round Pots x 12

• 9cm Square Pots x 12

How to use

Filling

Fill the pots with good quality compost, level and firm gently.

Sowing Seeds

Sow a couple of seeds in each pot and cover lightly with a small amount of compost. After germination, remove the weaker seedling.

Transplanting Seedlings and Cuttings

Seeds sown in trays should be transplanted into Grow Pots when the leaves are sufficiently developed. Gently remove the seedling and lower the root (or cutting) into a planting hole created in the compost placed in the Grow Pot. Firm the compost around the stem.

Watering

After sowing or transplanting, water thoroughly. The pot will darken in colour, indicating that the compost is moist. Prevent the Grow Pot from drying out.

Planting Out

When plants are ready for planting do not remove the plant from the pot; simply make a hole and plant out the complete pot. Firm the soil around the pot so that the pot is completely covered. Water the pot and surrounding area thoroughly and do not allow it to dry out during the first few days after planting.
