Step one: For this project it is best to buy new flower pots - make sure the pots are dry and clean before the paint is applied. Apply one coat of white undercoat with a brush, when this is dry apply the colour of your choice. |
Step two: When the paint is dry cut shapes or stripes out of masking tape and stick to the pot in a design of your choice. Paint over the masking tape covering the entire pot in a contrasting colour and leave to dry. |
Step three: When the second coat is completely dry, carefully remove the masking tape. You can continue the process to build up as many colours as you like. Finally seal with acrylic matt varnish. This will prevent the pot from running and ensure that that the pot continues to look good. |
