Apple Sauce
Serves 4-6

Ingredients
450g cooking apples
25g butter
1 x 15ml spoon caster sugar
pinch of ginger

Method
Peel, core and slice the apples and put in a heavy-based saucepan. Add 2-3 x 15ml spoons water, cover and cook gently for 10 minutes until the apples have softened.

Rub the mixture through a sieve or blend to a purée in a food processor. Stir in the butter, sugar and pinch of ginger, and serve hot or cold.
